Wordy Wednesday #6 at B-A-R and #Blogging #Tip

We warmly welcome you to Wordy Wednesday at Blog-A-Rhythm.

If you are a regular here, you must be wondering what happened to our Weekly linkup and Featured Blogger this past Sunday. Apologies for that. My health took a beating and I didn’t have time to schedule the post.

Let’s now get to your blogging tip from Blog-A-Rhythm:

Recall how we spoke about making sure your comments don’t disappear last week? Well, this week, we talk about leaving a meaningful comment. You heard me 😉

We all love comments. Even the ones who claim they don’t write for comments, love comments. Why? Because it is as simple as the acceptance principle. It is a way for us to be told that we matter and, be honest, you need to matter. It’s part of the psyche.

I follow the WHY principle when leaving comments. Here, I’ll show you.

W- The What: I liked the subject matter the blogger chose. I liked the fleshed-out topic so much that it resonated with me. So I say that.

H-The How: I loved how the blogger chose to deal with the topic- angry, humorous, serious, thoughtful, sensitive, intense. How did the blogger pick the voice to bring it across? I comment on that.

Y- The Why: Sometimes, it’s because I love the blogger for everything she/he said. Other times, it’s because you feel you could have written the exact post. Most times, it’s just because. No other reason other than the fact that you love blogging and bloggers, in general.

*Bonus tip: I try not to attempt more than 5-8 blog visits at a time. Keeps me from getting blog fatigue

This Week: Picture Prompt

Don’t you just love picture prompts? You can take any route you want in order to explore the picture! Love the freedom that it gives us.

This week’s prompt comes from storyteller, blogger and all-round helper:

Sid Balachandran

Write a minimum of 100 words on the prompt.

Oh, and do you want something to dress up your post? Here’s a  badge to display 🙂

Wordy Wednesday #5 at B-A-R and #Blogging Tip

We warmly welcome you to Wordy Wednesday at Blog-A-Rhythm.

This week’s blogging tip from Blog-A-Rhythm:

Ever noticed how frustrated you get after you type out a whole comment, click ‘Enter’ or ‘Publish’ and watch with horror as the comment disappears into cyberspace with the ‘Error’ message? Yep, that’s happened to me too.

So, here’s what I do. As soon as I type out the comment, I hit ‘Ctrl+A’ to select the whole comment, then click ‘Ctrl+ C’ to copy the comment and THEN hit publish. That way, even if the comment is not accepted by the site the first time around, I still just have to paste or ‘Ctrl+ V’ my comment back into the comment box.

Save time, save lives….er , I mean save blogging thoughts 😉

This Week: Sentence Prompt

Let’s paint the town red!

This week’s prompt comes from writer, social media enthusiast and B-A-R member:

Sulekha Rawat

Write a minimum of 100 words on the prompt.

Oh, and do you want something to dress up your post? Here’s a  badge to display 🙂

All those who write to the prompt are invited to share your links to the linky tool 🙂

Linkup is open only for posts written to this prompt.

First timer at the A – Z challenge here! 🙂 I am attempting this challenge as it seems both exciting and daunting! Whatever you fear you must conquer, has been my motto recently, hence the attempt. I hope to enjoy posting and reading everyone’s posts. All the best to everyone! 🙂

I have enrolled this year after reading so much about it. I am looking at themes to inspire me. I am apprehensive about going through it as I don’t write daily or to a theme. It’s a big challenge and will hopefully make me more disciplined and focused on writing.

This is my first attempt at the A-Z Challenge, and I think I have developed cold feet…already! I participated in NaBloPoMo last year, but, somehow, A-Z seems to be scaring me no end. Nonetheless, I am going to face this challenge and do my very best. So, help me God!

A-Z first-timer! My expectations or rather hope is that I am able to

(1) write daily

(2) with a theme and

(3) anything else that is required! My hope, ahem, is to write short(er) blogs: HOW do I do that?! (That’s SO challenging from me!!) 😉 ♥

First timer at AtoZ. I don’t know what to anticipate here. I have started working on my posts but haven’t signed up yet. 🙂 I think I will be signing up only Void Thoughts for AtoZ. Then again, who knows what I will end up doing in 2 months. 🙂

So,are you still debating or have you decided?

Oh and we have more bloggers who will not be doing A-Z on their blogs, but will be contributing a post for the B-A-R blog. Check back soon to know who they are! All will be revealed in the Theme Reveal post for A-Z 2015!

Let’s do this together!

Oh and before I forget, the BAR weekly link up is open, people 🙂
