#AtoZChallenge Quilling Thoughts into Verses by @sunjhini

I am fascinated by the whole process of beautifying thoughts into words that clasp your heart and tug ever so slightly, forming images which would shuffle between the blinks of your eyelid. And when you have finished reading, a strange cloud of emptiness would fill your heart, as if life suddenly lost all it’s meaning.

I know many bookworms go into depths of desperation after finishing a book, trying to find a replacement that would fill the void in their heart . Besides, there exist poems that make  readers put their hands on their chest and take a deep sigh!!

To tell tales and laugh away the morning
To drift and dream like a lazy stream,
And walk barefoot across sunshine days.”

I went moony-eyed while reading  Sunshine Days and Foggy Nights. This is my second favorite poem after As I walked out one evening by W H Auden.

‘I’ll love you, dear, I’ll love you
Till China and Africa meet,

And the salmon sing in the street

What I admire most is the creativity behind each imagery painted by the poet. The way words roll smoothly like a song, compelling the reader to think about the meaning behind each word. Visually rich and insightful, these are the poems that I can never get tired of reading.

I have always felt that vocabulary and abstract metaphors are not always important to make a verse or a sentence powerful. The art lies in presenting beauty in simplicity, alas, there’s nothing simple about that.

What impresses me more is the art of expressing without actually saying it. It’s challenging, yet so creatively enticing. But the most important point to note is, the quill needs to be dipped in the heart. If you are not happy with your work, there’s a probability no one else is going to be.

Robert Frost sums it up brilliantly.

“No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. No surprise in the writer, no surprise in the reader.”
