Wordy Wednesday and Blogging #Tip #2- June 2015

Welcome  to Wordy Wednesday at Blog-A-Rhythm. Last week’s linkup had 19 fabulous entries for the word prompt ‘Scream’! So lovely to see people stretch their creative muscles 🙂

Here’s our blogging tip for the week:

Write everyday

Before you gang up on me, please note that I just said ‘write’, not blog, not publish and not publicise everyday. That’s right. Writing is an art form and it is personal and evocative and powerfully capable of bringing the best and worst of our souls out into the open.

Writing everyday- on the computer, in a diary, on your phone, under the sky, on a train, at work- stimulates the mind. Don’t limit yourself. Don’t say, ‘Oh, let me write for an hour everyday’, because you will fail. Say instead, ‘Write everyday’. Whether that’s five minutes or five hours is totally up to your muse for the day.

Writing is good practise and while practising this won’t necessarily make you perfect, it will surely perfect the art of a habit. Don’t you agree?

  1. Good tip about writing everyday. And I like what you say about perfecting the art of a habit. The prompt this week is also quite inviting, let me see what comes to me as a result of that 🙂

  2. I can understand why writing daily would be a great exercise. However, I think it is also fine to just rest for a day or two or a week give or take or so and come back refreshed and rejuvenated. At least for me, ideas are everflowing as there is inspiration everywhere! I have numerous blog posts in various stages of draft and I do not feel inclined at this time to finish writing them off. I feel like I need/want/prefer a break right now and in part, due to the wonderful weather we are having of late, being outdoors more, etc. Just wonder…am I the only one who thinks this way? I think there is no right or wrong answer to this….just curious! 😉 ❤

  3. Thanks for choosing my prompt for this week 🙂 Also I agree with the blogging tip. It has been hard to find time just to pen my thoughts for a while now, let alone blog. But that is the way life will always be. This post motivated me to jump out of hibernation.

    • Do whatever works for you. Personally, I’ve never subscribed to that “You must write every day” mantra. That would make it more of a chore and not as pleasurable. I write when the muse and the mood strikes. “Go with the flow”. 🙂
