Wordy Wednesday #2- October 2015 #PhrasePrompt

It’s Wednesday folks! And it’s time for our Weekly Blogging Tip and Wordy Wednesday Prompt.

Let’s get started with the Blogging Tip, first…

Value Your Existing Readers

Darren Rowse, founder of ProBlogger says, “Love the readers you already have. A lot of bloggers get quite obsessed with finding new readers – to the point that they ignore the ones they already have. Yes – do try to find new readers but spend time each day showing your current readers that you value them too and you’ll find that they will help you grow your blog.”

Do you agree? What do you do or would do to show your existing readers that you value their time and relationship with you and your blog?

This Week: Phrase Prompt

What goes around, comes around

This week’s prompt comes from B-A-R member, writer and blogger,

Lata Sunil who blogs here

Write a minimum of 100 words on the prompt.

Make it work for you.

  1. I think it’s important to build upon the base of existing readers. Coddling readers is not my goal, but hopefully my posts provide them with mental stimulation or at the very least a bit of entertainment value. But, yes, loyalty is a good characteristic to maintain.

    • Oh yes, existing readers are a big source of inspiration and it they who help increase the reader base too. I am sure they come back to a blog because they find value and find a connect with the blog content and the blogger! Thanks for sharing your views, Arlee 🙂

  2. For me those that comment on my posts get first dibs on my time. Then I try and read other posts that have been added to the linkys I participate in. that’s a nice way to find new bloggers. Then if I find a post heading interesting I’ll drop by and read and comment if the post captured my interest. Of course there are those that I try to regularly visit because I like their theme or the way I write. I also regularly tweet posts of some bloggers.

I know I have many readers as the hits on my posts are quite huge even though only about 5% or less comment. And I’m glad that so many people read my posts. I write from my heart rather than to an audience as I believe that when you write from your heart, you will connect with like minded souls.

I limit my writing to 4 posts a week across 3 blogs so I can invest time in reading posts. What you give you get back. Thank you to all my readers whether you comment or not, I am grateful for your time.

    • Due to paucity of time these days, it’s the same for me too. The readers who comment on a post get preference from me too. Thanks for sharing your experience and opinions, Suzy! 🙂

  3. Oh yes I agree – existing readers are important and I love my regulars. This is specially true for a blog where long time readers turn into virtual friends.
