Welcome back everyone to the weekly sharing linkup. Today, we are  featuring one of the socially active faces behind B-A-R. Please raise your glasses in a toast to:

Parul Kashyap Thakur  who blogs at Happiness and Food

Parul Kashyap Thakur, Featured Blogger, Blogarhythm

In her own words, Parul has this to say:

I am a UP-ite by birth and a Bangalorean by heart. My first job made me relocate to Bangalore from Delhi close to 9 years back and since then, I have been in love with this city. I was a Software Developer for 2.5 years of my initial career but found my calling in HR. So, I went back to a B-school to study in Nagpur and then grab a job in HR in Bangalore. It’s been 5 years since then. I work full time and then I blog for the rest of my time.

Yes, I squeeze in managing my home, editing Wikipedia, watching TV and reading. It’s been two years of blogging and I feel I can express so much when I write. My blog happinessandfood.wordpress.com is all about my moments of happiness, a lot of food for thought, some food, travel and photography.:D My collection of words is simple and I believe in the power of expression.Help me learn, write better and I promise I will do the same!

I came across Parul at a Blogger Meet this year in January and was completely bowled over by the warmth of her smile and her sincerity. This may be due to the fact that she praised me and my writing (I’m kidding!) 😉 Parul writes on social causes with so much zeal that you are compelled to go back and read her over and over again.  Her blog, Happiness and Food, does full justice to the term with generous doses of happy ideas and food for thought. Give it a gander today!

Welcome back everyone to the weekly sharing linkup. Today, we are  featuring one of the creative faces behind B-A-R. Please raise your glasses in a toast to:

Jaibala Rao who blogs at My Thoughts

Jaibala

In her own words, Jaibala has this to say:

Academically a Microbiologist, I used to work in events before my life changed. Professionally a Teacher, I am a Writer and a Poet. My entire life revolves around the people I love, family, Friends and my toddler and my words define me. I have been reading since I learnt to decipher the alphabet and my world revolves around stories that I read and write. Every moment fascinates me and I live life by the belief there is something good in everything. I write mostly about a moment or an emotion, a story that catches my attention. My inspiration lies all around me, and I always try to put forth my opinion in my words.

My biggest blessing in life is my Son, who is my entire life and my friends who have been my courage and strength. Blogging for a year now, I still have a lot to learn, like I always say, I am a baby in the blogging world and being accepted wholeheartedly by the community has been a huge encouragement. Lessons in life never end, and I am forever learning.

Jaibala has that quality that all bloggers strive for- simplicity of expression. She writes right from her heart and her soul speaks through the sentences in her posts. Be it creative writing or non fictional musings, she takes you on a journey through her world and you emerge, happier and softened by the experience. In addition, she is a warm, thoughtful and beautiful person.

Here is her latest post , a heartfelt plea to save our animals:

Save the animals-They need us!

Sanch Living Life

Sanch Living Life

In her own words, Sanch has this to say:

Hello from Down Under! I’m 30, a child & adolescent psychologist by day and blogger/writer at other times. Originally from Bombay, I’ve been living in Sydney on my own since I was 21. Proud feminist, bibliophile, mental health advocate, fitness fanatic & beach-lover. I also enjoy hiking, camping, exploring, fashion, and well, life itself. I live with my 2 cats Pebbles and Buttons and we’ll soon be joined by my fiancĂ© in the new year making a house of 4. I’ve been blogging for 7 years and recently changed my blog to Living my Imperfect Life. I also started studying a diploma in creative writing in July and am looking to dabble in some freelance work in addition to my profession as a psychologist.

I came across Sanch through another writing group back in early 2014 and was drawn in by the simplicity of her writing together with the depth of her posts. Her posts always make you pause and think over an idea long after you’ve left the blog and I believe that’s the psychologist in her working her magic on you. She is currently on holiday but that hasn’t stopped her from blogging!

Here is her latest post , a travelogue of her sojourn in Quebec:

Travel tales: Quebec, Oh so quaint!

Welcome back everyone to the weekly sharing linkup. Today, we are  featuring one of the poetic faces behind B-A-R. Please raise your glasses in a toast to:

Sreesha Divakaran  who blogs on poetry and short fiction

at Petrichor and Clouds

and reviews books at Rain and a Book

Sreesha

In her own words, Sreesha has this to say:

I am/was (I recently quit my job :D) a technical writer by profession. I wrote my first poem, or silly little rhyme as I would now call it, when I was about 8. I am painfully introverted ( 😉 ), and writing was what helped me cope  with my dad’s frequent job transfers, new place, new schools and more. I started blogging in the year 2008, while in college. I blog at http://petrichorandclouds.blogspot.com/ (poems and fiction) and http://rainandabook.blogspot.com/ (book reviews). 🙂

Sreesha writes with a passion that I find fascinating. Whether it’s  her poetry or short stories, there’s an elusive quality of grace coupled with dark, rugged undertones of reality. If she is open and frank in her poetry, she is unabashedly honest in her book reviews. You won’t  find a review for the sake of it on her blog. Critical? Yes. Powerful? Definitely. Worth a visit? You bet! And you keep going back too.

Hop on over and say ‘Hello’ here in the comments or on her blog 🙂

Welcome back everyone to the weekly sharing linkup. Today, we are  featuring one of the prolific faces behind B-A-R. Please raise your glasses in a toast to:

Debbie Doglady  who blogs at The Doglady’s Den

Debbie D

Debbie D

In her own words, Debbie has this to say:

The “Doglady.” Canine Innkeeper in suburban Toronto, Canada. Writer/owner of THE DOGLADY’S DEN website.  Animal lover, music fanatic, inveterate traveller, history, literature and cinema buff. Eternal hippie/rockchick. Bi-national, German/Canadian. Speaks English, German, some French, a little Italian and a smattering of Spanish.

Born in Germany, to a German mother and a Canadian father of German descent.  He was an army officer who met his future wife while stationed in her homeland, after completing a tour of duty in Korea.

I started writing as a child and always dreamt of becoming a professional; even tried to make that happen for several years in the 1970s (long before the internet).  Discouraged by constant rejection, the need for a steady paycheque and the challenges of life in general, that muse was buried, deeper and deeper as time wore on and I became a corporate workaholic.  Slowly, with the help of computers and the blogging world (which she has embraced wholeheartedly), the muse has returned. Currently working on a memoir of her time at a Swiss boarding school and another of the dogs I have known during my years as a pet sitter.

Dogs have always been part of my life; a love passed down from generation to generation. Protracted unemployment in the early 90s required some creativity. Thus, my pet care business was born.

Debbie is a great writer and puts a lot of passion into the art of blogging. Her knowledge on tech sharing is offset in equal measure by the emotional connect she brings to her posts on dogs. She does everthing with dedication and a definite rhythm, traits that are valuable in any field, not just writing. Hop on over and say ‘Hello’ here in the comments or on her blog 🙂

In her own words, Rajlakshmi has this to say:

I hail from Assam but have spent a major part of my life travelling and living in different parts of India. Currently live in Sydney with my husband,I work as a Java developer. I started writing 7 years ago dabbling with poetry, fiction, random musings, social issues, papercrafts and travelling. Three blogs keep the thoughts running in my mind. Trying to find humour in life 🙂

Here is her latest post which showcases one of her incredible skills: Zentangles

Floral Zentangle

Rajlakshmi is a gifted writer and poet and can make you pause and think with her words, something most of us aspire for regularly. If you did the A-Z Challenge, you would have seen her jaw-dropping theme of Yoga every day and wondered if her body was made of rubber or some other equally flexible material! Her photography skills are to die for and every snapshot can speak volumes if not an entire novel of expressions.

IMG_20150412_121019~2

In her own words, Shailaja has this to say:

Shailaja V here: Writer, singer, parent and blogger. Not necessarily in that order. I churn out fiction and writing tips on one blog while trudging through the travails of motherhood on the other. Networking enthusiast, Grammar Geek and Eternal Learner. You’d like me if you met me 😉 Blogging began as a generic pastime back in 2007, about a year after my daughter was born. It found its footprints in a tiny space on the Blogging landscape and is now called: Diary of a Doting Mom It catalogues my experiments and experiences in parenting, some funny, some serious and most of them introspective in nature. Give it a gander if that suits you. The Moving Quill, was born in May 2014 because I believed that a writer lay trapped inside me. A fiction writer, that is. It could be due to the mistakenly heaped praise on some posts on my other blog that propelled me to start a blog devoted to writing stories. Be that as it may, it has been a very fulfilling journey, but it is far from over. With each new venture into writing, I keep learning and tweaking and grooming my technique. Hopefully, that resonates with people 🙂

Here is her latest post which celebrates her blog turning one today:

A Year old today

Shailaja is an amazing person to be around, because she is perpetually in a ‘Zen-like’ mode and after a while that can rub off on you too. She’s a talented writer, and much like a ‘witch of short-fiction’, she constantly brews amazing stories in that secret cauldron of hers and takes us on a magical journey of sorts. So, do pop over and say ‘Hi’ when you can. She would love to hear what you have to say. In the meanwhile, add your links to the blue frog below and stroll around to visit the other blogs. Cat Graham

Cat Graham

In her own words, Cat has this to say:

I love being creative through writing, photography, art, and music.

I especially enjoy writing poetry, short stories, novels and blogging at www.cattitudeandgratitude.blogspot.com

I live in a small village outside Canada’s capitol city, Ottawa with my husband and two young adult sons, Rory and Eric, 21 and 19. We have an Alaskan Malamute named Loup, an orange tabby named Kobie and a calico cat named Daisy. Anyone who knows me on Facebook has seen endless pet photos whether they wanted to or not!

I sing Alto 2 in a women’s choir, play flute in a concert band and in a duo, Tartan and Tea with my harpist friend. I enjoy being part of the Blog-A-Rhythm blogging group. Writing can be lonely so it is wonderful to have the friendship and support of fellow writers. I also enjoy challenges like the A-Z challenge in April to keep me writing regularly.

Here is Cat’s recent guest post for B-A-R which she wrote for the A to Z Challenge:

J is for Journal

Cat Graham is a wonderful writer, poet and casual photographer who regales people with the love stories between the cardinals that visit her garden. Her quirky poetry will always put a smile on your face. Cat is also one of the most open people I have met online and she never shies away from learning something new: a trait that a lot of people seem to lose as they grow older. Cat, you are an inspiration to so many, many of us. I love you for who you are ❀

So, do pop over and say ‘Hi’ when you can. She would love to hear what you have to say.

Red Handed  who blogs at The Red Handed Blog 🙂

1912545_313048775486860_711423921_n

In her own words, Red has this to say:

Though a Malayalee by lineage, I was born and brought up in Madhya Pradesh. I was the only child until my brother joined me when I was 8 years old. After frequent bouts of hating and hurting him, I decided to accept him as someone I so love.

I was coerced into learning Carnatic music for 6years because my grandfather loved my voice. I got into a National Law University and pursued law. Did litigation for a year and decided that it wasn’t my cup of tea. Now I am someone who specialises in International taxation and is currently in Bangalore.

I am presently toning up my body through cardio by way of running away from arranged marriages. I am anonymous not because I can write better that way but because I am fine with my posts getting the limelight. My favourite part of a meal is dessert and all good conversations start with food.

Here is Red’s recent post which is slightly different from her usual mould:

To the man who bought a pad

Red Handed is a blogger who writes the most rib-tickling, side-splitting and hilarious posts I have ever read. You cannot walk away from her posts with your sanity intact and I mean that in the best way possible. The only grouse I have with her is that she doesn’t blog as often as I would like her to. 😉

So, do pop over and say ‘Hi’ when you can. She would love to hear what you have to say.
