Wordy Wednesday #4- July 2015

Welcome  to Wordy Wednesday at Blog-A-Rhythm.

Sorry we missed the last few scheduled posts. Time to pull up our socks and get back to the programming 🙂

First, our blogging tip for the week:

Do you proofread your posts?

Most of us write the post, dash it off and hit ‘publish’ before we have had a chance to catch our breath. The result?

Typos galore.

It takes exactly five minutes more to check for errors with a handy grammar tool. Why should you do it? Well, it shows readers that you care about your content. It reflects the idea that even if you are just blogging for fun, you pay attention to the details. That, to be honest, always draws people in.

Wordy Wednesday #3 and Blogging Tip- July 2015

Welcome  to Wordy Wednesday at Blog-A-Rhythm.

First, our blogging tip for the week:

A clear ‘About Me’ page

Most of us don’t even realise that this is missing from our blogs. Whether you blog under your real name or a pseudonym, it’s important to have a clearly visible ‘About Me’ page. Continue reading

Welcome back everyone to the weekly sharing linkup. Today, we are  featuring one of the socially active faces behind B-A-R. Please raise your glasses in a toast to:

Parul Kashyap Thakur  who blogs at Happiness and Food

Parul Kashyap Thakur, Featured Blogger, Blogarhythm

In her own words, Parul has this to say:

I am a UP-ite by birth and a Bangalorean by heart. My first job made me relocate to Bangalore from Delhi close to 9 years back and since then, I have been in love with this city. I was a Software Developer for 2.5 years of my initial career but found my calling in HR. So, I went back to a B-school to study in Nagpur and then grab a job in HR in Bangalore. It’s been 5 years since then. I work full time and then I blog for the rest of my time.

Yes, I squeeze in managing my home, editing Wikipedia, watching TV and reading. It’s been two years of blogging and I feel I can express so much when I write. My blog happinessandfood.wordpress.com is all about my moments of happiness, a lot of food for thought, some food, travel and photography.:D My collection of words is simple and I believe in the power of expression.Help me learn, write better and I promise I will do the same!

I came across Parul at a Blogger Meet this year in January and was completely bowled over by the warmth of her smile and her sincerity. This may be due to the fact that she praised me and my writing (I’m kidding!) 😉 Parul writes on social causes with so much zeal that you are compelled to go back and read her over and over again.  Her blog, Happiness and Food, does full justice to the term with generous doses of happy ideas and food for thought. Give it a gander today!

Here is her latest post , a question posed to our Government on a valid issue:

How about #PropertyForDaughter?

Why don’t you pop over and say hello? Or leave a note for her here in the comments?

In the meanwhile, add your links to the blue frog below and stroll around to visit the other blogs. Linkup stays open till next Saturday, July 18th.

Note: You only need to have a blog to add your links to this linkup 🙂

You do not need to be a B-A-R member 🙂

Please tweet your links to @Blogarhythm1 so we can reshare your posts.

Each person can add any number of links. No ‘BAR’ on that 😉

Have a good week, people.

Wordy Wednesday and Blogging #Tip #2- July 2015

Welcome  to Wordy Wednesday at Blog-A-Rhythm.

Here’s our blogging tip for the week:

Link your Facebook page to Twitter

You probably have a Facebook page dedicated to your blog. If you have a Twitter account as well, why don’t you link the two?

So, any time you publish a post on the Facebook page, it gets auto-shared to Twitter.

Things to remember:

  1. Twitter loves Hash tags, so use those within the first 140 characters when you share a post on Facebook.
  2. Do NOT link Twitter to Facebook, because that would mean that every update on Twitter gets shared to Facebook and that’s a surefire way to annoy people- by cluttering their News Feed.
  3. Find out how often you should share to social media.

It’s really quite simple. Follow the instructions here to link your FB page to Twitter today!
